Life can be uncertain, painful, and difficult to move through. It can also be filled with joys, success, and fulfillment. Chelsea believes that her role as a therapist is to assist you in overcoming life obstacles through understanding what gives you a sense of purpose. She wants to know who you are and the values that may underlie conflicts you bring to session. For some, this might mean you will explore various areas of your life that have not been voiced before. For others, you may spend time delving into which of those areas you feel stuck in and how to get un-stuck. Each person seeks therapy for unique reasons. Chelsea believes everybody has potentials for growth and, ultimately, she wants to help guide you in becoming your authentic self.
Chelsea graduated from the University of North Texas in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She currently practices as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate under supervision of a Board Approved Supervisor for the State of Oklahoma. Chelsea has worked with children, adolescents, and adults through a combination of modalities that include—but are not limited to—Existential-Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play and Art Therapies, and Family Systems. Since 2013 she has worked within inpatient and outpatient settings in three states: Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma. One of Chelsea’s career highlights so far involved facilitating group and individual therapy at a rehabilitation treatment program for at-risk veterans. She has experience addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, adjustment, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and trauma.
Chelsea aspires to be her authentic self in the professional arena through continuing education opportunities, reading books and peer-reviewed research, staying informed of policy changes, and becoming a fully licensed LPC in the State of Oklahoma. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs along with reading, crossword puzzles, sudoku, film, music, and gifting herself with a fine cup of coffee each morning.
